Drink water before coming to tennis and drink water constantly during your drills and competitions. Make certain you have a large jug of water!
Determine the movement of wind and constantly put your face toward the moving air and call it “air conditioning.” It can really cool you off. Make certain you seek shade whenever possible and wear a HAT! Some players are relieved by soaking a bandana in ice water and wearing it around their neck.
If you get a headache, you should get out of the sun immediately. Always tell your coach why you are leaving the court or if you need assistance. Have a healthy summer and remember to apply sun screen every two hours in full sun.
