Polo at Sunset

For over 20 years, Hickory Hall Polo Club has provided a unique, family-focused social and sporting event while also raising money and awareness for local organizations. The Indianapolis Tennis and Education Foundation is grateful to have been chosen as a 2025 Polo at Sunset beneficiary.

Together, with our assigned partner the Midwest Academy, we’re thrilled to host this event!

Pack your picnic baskets and coolers, grab your chairs and tailgate items, and join us for this family-friendly event, including an airplane candy drop at halftime, a bourbon pull, and long-forehand contest following the match on June 27, 2025.

Experience the exciting sport of polo and enjoy an evening with fellow tennis families, all while helping support youth tennis in our community.

Tickets are on sale now! General admission tickets are $40 per carload and provide entry to the venue and tailgate spots on a first-come, first-served basis along the east sideline.

Sponsorships are also available in support of the Indianapolis Tennis and Education Foundation. Sponsorships include reserved VIP tailgate locations along the west sideline, and VIP parking, while also providing promotional opportunities for your business.

ICTP Receives USTA Outstanding Facility Award

ORLANDO, Fla., August 28, 2024

The USTA today announced that the Barbara S. Wynne Tennis Center at North Central High School is one of 41 winners in the  USTA’s annual Outstanding Facility Awards program, which recognizes excellence in the construction and/or renovation of tennis facilities throughout the country.

The Barbara S. Wynne Tennis Center recently completed a two-year, $4 million construction renovation project. The center now features 26 new post-tension concrete courts in a four-deck formation with wide coaching and viewing lanes separating each deck.

Rounding out the facility and adjacent to the 26 full-size courts are two 60′ courts for beginner players.

“Outstanding tennis facilities like the Barbara S. Wynne Tennis Center help us to grow the game at the grassroots level, and we are proud to recognize them for their ongoing impact on the sport of tennis,” said Theodore Loehrke, Managing Director, Section Partnerships, USTA. “The great work of the Indianapolis Community Tennis Program continues to support our shared mission of growing tennis to inspire healthier people and communities everywhere.”

Facilities were judged on the following criteria: overall layout and adaptation to site; excellence of court surface and lights; ease of maintenance; accommodations for players, spectators and press/officials; aesthetics; graphics (including the use of signs and landscaping); amenities such as casual seating for spectators, food services and social areas; and the facilities’ participation in grassroots tennis programs.
